Chongkon Haruna Zaman earned his B.Eng. and M.Eng. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) Bauchi, Bauchi State, Nigeria. After completing his M.Eng., he joined the Department of Works and Physical Planning at the University of Wukari Taraba State Nigeria as an Electrical Engineer. He has been pursuing his Doctorate in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Morgan State University with Dr. Cliston Cole since August 2022. Zaman joined Dr. Cole’s Secure Signal and Systems (SSS) group, where his interests lie in the Security of the Internet of Things (IoT) devices. Zaman’s research goal is to focus on investigating and improving the security of IoT devices. His thesis title is “On Side-Channel analysis of connected IoT devices using Hidden Markov Models (HMMs).” He is expected to graduate in Spring 2024.
