Background Noise Removal in Speech Applications

This research investigates signal processing techniques for noise removal to improve speech perception. We study the effects of noise on important perceptual cues used by the auditory systems. Our experiments range from simulation of novel noise removal algorithms to psycho-acoustic experiments on human subjects to understand how the auditory systems process speech.
